Celebrating a very important pollinator, the bee. We love to see bees and plant our garden with bee friendly plants.
It’s no secret that we love bees and bees on our fabric! This sweet collection includes a double edge border, much like a wild floral border in our own garden, buzzing with friendly bees.
Indian Summer was born out of my love for simple, clean design, deeply rooted in traditional textiles and the most ancient block printing techniques brought into the present with a fresh, modern interpretation and chalky palette. Delving deep into our quilting and textile heritage I took inspiration from early chintz fabrics, Georgian summer dresses, stylised florals and traditional Indian woodblock prints. Indian Summer offers endless possibilities for beautiful quilt making, stylish dressmaking and inspiring interior design.
‘Sakura’ is the Japanese word for Cherry blossom and a national flower of Japan. ‘Hanami’, which means flower viewing, is the Spring tradition of viewing the Sakura where family and friends can gather to enjoy drinks under the masses of blossom . This custom celebrates the transient beauty of flowers and we think a wonderful way to celebrate the new life that Springs brings.
This collection is inspired by our own love of cherry blossom and how, for us, it signifies the end of Winter and a journey to sunnier days. The gold metallic on each these fabrics not only looks lovely but is inspired by the Japanese art of ‘Kintsugi’ when broken ceramics are repaired using gold which highlights the flaws and cracks. A fabulous way to prolong the life of an object and rather than throwing something away, it’s made into something beautiful. We love to see our fabrics made into something beautiful and look forward to seeing ‘Sakura’ sewn into your new projects.
